1.What happened? Barrick Gold, the largest gold company in the world, is developping this project. He plans to invest u.s$ 1.2 billion over 20 years.





2.where? Pascua Lama is located in the Andes mountains, south of Atacama, straddling the border between Chile and Argentina at an altitude of over 4,500 metres.








3.when ? Barrick is studing this project since 1991 for several years .





4.why?Pasca- Lama contains 17 million ounces of gold and 635 million ounces of silver.
